Keeping up with the Jones's
We were married in Mountain Timpanogos Temple on August 16, 2008. Since then we have been through a lot together and a lot more to come I am sure. I decided this is the best way to let friends and family keep up with our crazy lives.
Playing Catch-up
Today is the second day of 2013. Since graduating from UVU I was unable to get a permeant job, but I have been subbing for Kelly Services. I found out in December that I really have PCOS. The doctor recommend losing 10-15 pounds to help with side effects of PCOS. Stephen is still working at Myriad and still loving it. We just had our first Christmas at our new house and loved it. We love our new ward and the primary class that we were called to teach. Next Sunday we get a new class and we are excited to get to know these kids as well. Over all we are loving our new house and neighborhood.
Nephew Liam Russell Jones
So we knew we were getting us a nephew this month, but we weren't expecting him until near the end of August! He was born Saturday August 11th at 1:33 P.M. For the brief amount of time we saw him on Saturday he was such a cutie! On Sunday we found out that he was in the NICU, but we know he will get out soon! I can't wait to see him for more then a few minutes. Since Stephen and I are both the oldest in our families this is our first niece or nephew! So we are looking forward to spending more time with him and getting to know him!
Keeping up with the Business
Okay I have been a little behind! Okay lets review what has happened this year! I graduated from UVU in April and when I finished my student teaching I started substitute teaching. At this point we started looking to move and finally the end of May secured our first home. We moved in the end of June. Since then we have been busy getting settled in. We moved in and a few days latter went to Idaho Falls for the Forth of July! I threw a baby shower for my sweet sister-in-law Diana. We both spent a little time this past week participating in the Frei Family Reunion. We attended a mandatory work meeting and summer get together with Steve's coworkers and significant others. We helped set up for Kaylani's reception for a few hours and then headed to Aurora to stay with my Grandparents. Friday we were going nonstop from 8 am till midnight. Although it was a busy day I am excited for Brady to finally join the family. First we went to the Manti temple for Kaylani's wedding. We hit a few road closures between Aurora and Manti, but at least we got to the ceremony. Then we headed to Mapleton for the luncheon. We headed home to get their gift and went to the reception. We left there and threw some breakfast in the crock pot for breakfast the next morning. Saturday we ate breakfast with the Jason Cress Family, then I attended a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law McKayla, and then we went to see their super cute 1st apartment. Although this month is looking to be a busy one I am so excited to get my first and only sister-in-law on the Hill side of the family.
Senior Orientation
Today I went to Senior Orientation. It was fun seeing the few people that came! After orientation I spent time with Misti getting things figured out for Monday! When I got home I applied for my student teaching license and got it. Then it hit me in April I will be done with school hopefully teaching school somewhere!
Happy 3rd Anniversay
So are actual Anniversary was Tuesday August 16th, but we celebrated it on Monday to Tuesday. On Monday we went to Smith and Edwards looking for my mother in law a barbie for her birthday. We ended up buying a Soda Stream. It was a lot cheaper there than any where else we have seen them. After Smith and Edwards we went to Peach City drive inn and I had a fresh peach shake. After that we went to Kent's grocery store to use the bathroom since there was no public restroom at Peach City. Next we went to Promontory Point. It was great to finally go to a place that was important to our history. It was fun to see the remake trains and the demonstration. I learned a lot there. The kicker here is that a semi flipped up a pebble onto our windshield and by the end of the day it was 6 inches long from the heat. After we did everything there we headed to Logan, but without first stopping at the in progress Brigham City temple. We took pictures there and headed to Logan to check in at Crystal Inn. They started a new thing where they serve a light dinner so we went there but I didn't feel it to be a light dinner. They served chicken fried steak, corn, and mashed potatoes. For dessert they gave rice crispy treats. After dinner we went to the worlds smallest mall I swear. We went to the coolest store fun unlimited. I got a lot of cool books for my classroom and a memory card for our wii. When we got back from the mall we went swimming at the pool. Tuesday we went to breakfast at the hotel. Then we went to Grossner dairy plant and got fresh cheese curds and chocolate milk. It was super good. After that we headed to Bear Lake. We went to a cute little drive inn at Bear Lake and had fresh raspberry shake. At the drive inn I changed into my swimming suit to got bathe in the sun by the lake. After the drive in there was no super great place by the lake so we ended up putting our chairs in the edge of the lake. After about 30 minutes I was ready to go. So I got all my clothes out of the car and changed in the port-a-potty. We drove home and stopped by my parents house. We called Texas Roadhouse to get a table. I was super pleased with the fantastic staff at the American Fork location. The owner/manager brought us a free appetizer coupon and let stephen ride the saddle for our Anniversary and they gave us free dessert and they brought us free samples of there great food. I will definitely be returning there again.
Soul Surfer
I have wanted to see this movie since I saw the preview at the movie theater! I never got the opportunity while it was in theaters, but my sisters friend brought it over last Saturday that's when I realized I could get it off my Netflix account! I added it as my next movie but it said this movie was going to be on hold for awhile. I didn't want to wait awhile because I really wanted to see this movie. We went to a few Redbox's from here to AF, but no such luck! Well what better luck to get it in the mail on Wednesday August 10 just 3 days after it said it was on hold. I watched it for the first time last night and decided this is now my new favorite movie. I also can relate to Bethany because after my brain tumor was removed I had to relearn how to do things I have been doing my whole life too with one hand! Although I have limited function in my left side now I had to learn to do things just using my right side. I feel this movie is the story of my life because you never know the Lord's plan for you, but as you do things you never know who's life you are touching by sharing your experience or who he sent to touch yours through this experience!
Anniversary of the day I got rid of my friend the tumor and daily migraines
Can't believe I am hear today actually I can and know there is a reason for it! 2 years ago living was looking grim after a 8 and a half hour surgery! I know that I am where I am supposed to be today because of all the love, prayers and fasting of those I love and that love me! These last 2 years have been eventful but I know I would not be walking today if it wasn't for all the help from my physical therapists Mike (daily at the facility) and Shane (weekly outpatient at Utah Valley). I also owe a lot to Melissa (speech therapy) and Bridgette (occupational therapy) these fabulous gals got me back to a place where I could function in society again by cooking, cleaning, and all the other daily necessities they retaught me to do! I know that today I can't do all the things I used to be able to do, but today I look at all those things that I have accomplished in the last 2 years and know there is more to come! I also am grateful to Dr. Gardner for getting me in immediately before normal business hours after finding the tumor to schedule the removal! He is the best! Thanks to my parents for letting us move in so that Orem nursing and rehab would let me move out and for driving me places I needed to go! Thanks to my in laws for all the support and also giving me rides to places I need to go as well! I wouldn't be where I am today with out the support and love from my wonderful husband who lived on little sleep at this time by going to his last semester of school, doing his internship, working full, and still spending time with me! Thanks Cade for the support, prayers, and fasting from your mission in Hawaii! I am so blest to have been born and married into such a fantastic family! I can feel the love and support from both sides thanks guys! Well I can tell you that today I know we are where we are supposed to be at the moment and we will see what happens after I graduate this coming spring! I am so excited to be teaching the 5 year olds, I know we are called to teach them but I feel they will be teaching me more! I am so grateful for all the blessing and support I have received through all this! Not to mention if I didn't have this problem I would have graduated last spring and missed out on the blessing of getting to know all of the fantastic people in my current cohort! Another blessing in disguise! These people are so great to help me out, not that my other cohort I was in wouldn't but the lord knew I needed these people to help me and maybe I am helping them out! If not oh well because them and my professors have been little blessing needed in my life!
